West Norfolk Council has issued a message to householders following changes to refuse collection services in particular food waste, during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Please tell your friends and neighbours in West Norfolk to put food waste inside the black bin. Food caddies will not be collected.
“Due to social distancing rules, and staff self-isolating, our bin crews are working as reduced teams and cannot collect the separate food waste in the food caddy.
“If you see that your neighbours have put their food caddy out please let them know. Even if it means knocking on their door, taking three paces back, and telling them. Until lockdown is over food caddies WILL NOT be collected.
“We need to reduce the number of calls in to our call centre as the team must prioritise calls from vulnerable people.”
