A West Norfolk firm of family funeral directors has given assurances to families during the coronavirus pandemic.

Andrew Thornalley, of Thornalley Funeral Services, said he was aware government advice would have an impact on funerals arranged and those to be planned. He said coronavirus funerals would be dealt with via telephone as could non-coronavirus funerals if families preferred.

Strict hygiene practices were being followed and any mourners who felt unwell were being asked to follow government advice.

Lynn’s Mintlyn Crematorium and also Breckland Crematorium near Norwich both have a free webcast where people unable to attend can watch a funeral service using log-in details given to next-of-kin if requested.

Extra restrictions came into place this week. With cremation funerals, services will be at the crematorium. Churches have been closed and burials are to have a graveside service.
