SAILING: Snettisham Beach Sailing Club will again be throwing open its doors for its annual Push The Boat Out Day.
Open to anyone aged eight-80, everyone is welcome at the club on Saturday, May 16, 10am-4pm as part of the Royal Yachting Association’s national initiative to promote sailing and discover more champions.
The day offers the chance for everyone to try sailing for free with taster sessions on the lake from 10am and chance to try sea sailing in the afternoon.
A club spokesman said: “Snettisham Beach Sailing Club is the prime place to go to learn to sail in north and west Norfolk. We can take you from first steps into a small boat on our lake through RYA courses and on to confident sailing on the sea. Thereafter the world is your playground!”
Food and drink will be available all day from the bar and also the chance to save 10 per cent off any RYA courses booked on the day
There is no need to book in advance for the Push The Boat Out Day, just turn up with footwear you do not mind getting wet, a windproof top, a change of clothes and a towel.
No experience is necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult but he or she adult does not have to go sailing.
