A Downham Market author, artist and printmaker is staging her first solo exhibition.

The work of Sue Welfare is to go on display at the Welney Wetland Trust centre from Sunday, March 1 to Thursday, April 30.

Ms Welfare said she loved Welney and its dramatic landscape and the amazing wildlife and birds it supports.

“My first visit there was a birthday present to see the swans being fed by floodlights under a dramatic Fenland sky and the image has stayed with me.

“Welney is a real gem,” she said.

Her work has strong Norfolk country and coastal themes and will be on display in the centre’s exhibition space at the Hundred Foot Bank attraction.
