FOOTBALL: King’s Lynn Town put a dent in Mulbarton Wanderers’ Thurlow Nunn League Division One North title hopes at Wisbech on Saturday.

Despite conceding an early goal to the leaders, the Linnets hit back with a goal from Joeseph Taylor to earn a 1-1 draw. It ended the visitors’ four-match winning run. First-team striker Harry Limb continued his comeback from illness after returning to the club from loan. The Northern Ireland u19 player and former Burnley striker was one of six players booked.

A dominant performance saw second-placed Downham Town close the gap at the top to two points with a 4-0 win at Felixstowe & Walton United Reserves.

Ben Baxter-Hunt gave Town a fifth-minute lead from the penalty spot before Duncan McAnally saved a disputed home spot kick.

Isaac Bloodworth doubled the away advantage on the stroke of half-time and Robbie Priddle made it 3-0 a minute into the second half.

Jack Gould completed the scoring in stoppage time.

A commanding performance at centre back earned Pat Yates the man of the match award.
