FOOTBALL: A stunning last-gasp free-kick from George Watts-Sturrock earned Downham Town a point in a 1-1 draw at Great Yarmouth Town on Saturday.

The Thurlow Nunn League Division One North match looked to have been settled by home captain Adie Ager’s 58th minute goal until Watts-Sturrock let fly from 25 yards in the 90th minute.

Isaac Bloodworth had earlier hit a post for Downham and came close to snatching a winner, only to be denied by a stunning save from the home goalkeeper in stoppage time.

King’s Lynn Town Reserves crashed 4-0 at bottom club Wisbech St Mary.

The West Norfolk derby between Lynn Reserves and Downham, postponed in December, has been rearranged for Wednesday, February 5, 7.45pm, at the Fenland Stadium, Wisbech.
