The Queen was joined by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for a service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

William and Kate smiled at the crowds of well-wishers as they walked to church together from Sandringham House on Sunday.

Carole and Michael Middleton, Kate’s parents, and the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley also attended church.

The Queen wore purple, while Kate paired a plum-coloured coat with an indigo fedora decorated with pheasant feathers.

Prince Philip, who spent four nights in London’s King Edward VII Hospital before Christmas, did not attend the service.
