Children discovered the joy of classical music and showcased what they had learned during a first professional concert.
Year five pupils at St Edmund’s Academy in North Lynn, worked with composer Jane Wells and professional musicians Jonathan Farey and Catriona McDermid to create and rehearse a special composition.
They then performed as part of King’s Lynn Festival’s Coffee Concert series at Lynn Town Hall on November 15.
A festival spokesman said the aim of the project had been to introduce children to a genre of music they may not have previously experienced.
Class teacher Kevin Wales said: “They learned and recited a piece of music using Pbones (plastic trombones), percussion, French horn, bassoon and then got to experience a live audience who clearly supported their performance.
“As their class teacher, I am exceptionally proud of what they achieved and would like to offer my thanks to all involved, especially Jane Wells for organising the event, exposing children to musical pieces they may not otherwise come across.”
