A new shop selling waffles, cookies, milkshakes and more has got off to a sweet start.

Waffleopolis opened its doors on Monday in the Saturday Market Place at King’s Lynn.

The shop  is owned by Gary Kerr and his partner Jaimie Manning, who is also the manager.

It employs four members of staff and is open daily from 11am to 9pm.

“We began with a soft opening as it gives you time to tweak things if you need to, but it has been so busy,” said Mr Kerr.

Waffleopolis currently  makes three types of waffle desserts – a Christmas tree shape, a bubble waffle and waffle balls.

“Jaimie wanted to open a dessert restaurant. So we thought about a waffle shop as it’s a relatively new concept in this country, waffle shops come from Hong Kong,” said Mr Kerr who formerly ran Liquor and Loaded in Lynn’s Tower Street.

The fresh waffles are served with ice cream and a variety of toppings.

The shop also sells milkshakes, cookies, soft drinks and hot drinks, all to take away.

Mr Kerr and Miss Manning are delighted with the location of the shop in an historic area of town.

“I love that area. We got the last available unit,” he said.
