There promises to be a host of festive fun when the Christmas lights are turned on in King’s Lynn next week.

The annual switch-on event is being held in the Tuesday Market Place from 4pm on Thursday and Britain’s Got Talent stars Twist and Pulse are set to lend a hand on the main stage.

There will be fairground rides, craft stalls, food stands and live music before the countdown begins and the switch is flicked at around 7pm.

Families are invited to take part in the celebrations by joining a light parade leaving Stories of Lynn in the Saturday Market Place at 5.30pm.

Youngsters have been making their own lanterns for the parade  using plastic bottles and everyone is welcome to wear a festive costume and get involved.

Dancing duo Ashley Glazebrook (Twist) and Glen Murphy (Pulse) are starring in and choreographing Aladdin at Lynn Corn Exchange.

The panto runs from Tuesday, December  10, until Sunday, January 5 and the pair are busy rehearsing.

The event will also see the start of “Festive Thursdays” in Lynn town centre.

From this Thursday until December  19, there will be late night shopping and festive street entertainment from 5pm to 8pm.

Also in the town centre, there will be a festive fair from Thursday through to Sunday each week, including Monday, December 23 and Christmas Eve.

There will be children’s rides, workshops, a heated, seated marquee and live music, plus different stalls each week selling food, gifts and crafts.
