Passers-by will have the opportunity to throw a wet sponge at an estate agent – all in the name of charity.

Senior negotiator Rob Framingham will be in stocks outside Russen and Turner in the High Street, King’s Lynn today (Friday) from 10am to 2pm raising money for the BBC Children in Need appeal.

Mr Framingham said: “The company is inviting people to get their own back on an estate agent – it will be good fun. I am hoping I can get another volunteer so I don’t get too cold.

“But we will have a bucket with three sponges and it will be a case of chuck some money in and go for it.”

Schools, businesses and organisations in West Norfolk will be doing their bit for the charity, from non-uniform events to bake sales.

Staff at Barclays in Lynn’s High Street have been busy baking and will be tempting customers with a cake sale from 9.30am to 12.30pm today.
