GOLF: Lewis Kerr proved he is a winner on both track and fairway with victory in his own charity golf event.

The King’s Lynn Poultec Stars speedway rider is alive today thanks to the efforts of the Magpas Air Ambulance, who saved his life after a crash.

As a way to say thank you, the Kerr family organised a charity golf day at Heacham Manor and raised £2,400.

Kerr teamed up with Ben Day, Anton Neal and Martin Smith and they won the event.

A delighted Kerr paid tribute to the charity and said: “It was a great day for a great cause, who helped save my life.

“Big thanks to my dad, who organised 90 per cent of it.”

He also thanked main sponsor Bespoke Estate Group and everyone who had taken part and contributed to raise the excellent amount for the air ambulance, which provides pre-hospital care by land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies.
