A man in his 20s suffered serious head injuries during an assault in King’s Lynn town centre. 

Police were called to the Old Cattle Market car park at Sainsbury’s just before 4.30am on Saturday.

The victim, who has not been identified, was found with serious head injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge where he remains in a stable condition.

The area around the car park was cordoned-off on Saturday while detectives and forensics officers worked at the scene.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with the  assault.

He was bailed until Wednesday, October 30 while investigations continue.
