A globe-trotting teddy bear is bringing a smile to staff and residents at a Downham Market care home.
Kingsley Bear was introduced to residents at Downham Grange in February and will be jetting off on holiday with their families and with staff members.
The little bear has quickly clocked up the air miles, enjoying trips to Turkey and Thailand.
Now the jet setter is having a rest at the nursing home, in Clackclose Road, following a two-week holiday taking in the delights of America’s Deep South and a Caribbean cruise.
Home manager Kirsty Napier said: “When staff or residents’ families are going off on holiday we encourage them to take Kingsley along with them. The photographs taken of Kingsley, whether they are of him in foreign climes or on a picnic at Sandringham, are a great topic of conversation for our residents.”
A world map of Kingsley’s adventures will soon be going on display in the home, she added.
On his latest trip to the US, he was accompanied by nurses Lynda Roles and Tara Ward, who are both unit managers at Downham Grange.
Ms Roles said: “Kingsley got himself photographed in all kinds of places, sunning himself by the Mississippi, exploring New Orleans and cruising on the river. During our seven-day cruise, he was photographed in every port of call, from Montego Bay, Jamaica to Grand Cayman and Cozumel, in Mexico.”
