West Norfolk Council is working with a “major company in the hospitality industry ” to explore the possibility of building an 80-bed hotel in Hunstanton.

In a report to last night’s full council meeting, Peter Gidney, cabinet member for project delivery, said the hotel would link to the HemingwayDesign proposals.

The council has commissioned HemingwayDesign, headed up by Wayne Hemingway, to develop a scheme to redevelop Hunstanton’s southern seafront, between The Green and the edge of Heacham.

The report said the proposals would go out to public consultation “hopefully soon”.
