Members of West Norfolk Artists Association stage their annual summer exhibition at the end of the month.

The popular display is the association’s showpiece event which will run from Saturday, August 24 to  Tuesday, September 3 at St Nicholas’ Chapel in King’s Lynn.

Previously exhibiting alongside Lynn festival, this year the association has moved the date to include the August Bank Holiday in a bid to make the display bigger and better.

All the artists are from West Norfolk and some are well known professional artists whose work features in private collections around the globe.

A spokesman said: “You may have unknowingly bought their work featured on a greetings card or other items.

“Or you may already have a favourite local artist whose work you are collecting.

“Other artists in the association are just starting out, maybe entering their first exhibition.

“It can be a scary prospect to show your work for the first time.”

The spokesman added: “The association exists to encourage all local artists to show off their talent and the summer exhibition gives them a chance to share all their hard work.

“The People’s Choice Award is always popular with visitors to the exhibition getting a chance to choose their favourite piece and it’s a great feeling for any artist to have people vote for their work.

“It helps the artists to keep in touch with local opinion.”

There will also be other recognition of talent including The Syd Davison Award and the Inga Miller Award.

Members hope the exhibition will include something for everyone with paintings, photographs, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and more.

There will be an exhibition preview event on Friday, August 23 from 7pm to 9pm.

Opening times will then be 10.30am to 4.30pm August 24 to September 2, and  September 3  the opening times will be 10.30am to 1pm. Admission will be free.
