History came to life when the new chairman of Norfolk County Council held a summer reception at King’s Lynn Town Hall.
Harry Humphrey, county councillor for Emneth and Outwell ward, has taken over the role for 2019/2020 after he was first elected in 1993.
The event, held last week, was attended by friends and family, as well as civic and political leaders and community organisations.
Mr Humphrey, who lives in Emneth, said it was a great honour and privilege to serve as chairman and the Norfolk Carers’ Charter would be the main theme of his year in office.
The Charter focuses on young carers, carers in work and carers in the community and he hopes to raise awareness with schools, employers and communities of the needs and difficulties of unpaid carers.
Guests also enjoyed a talk and looked around the Stories of Lynn exhibition.
