Searles Sea Tours, home of West Norfolk’s iconic Wash Monster excursion boat, celebrated its 90th anniversary in style.

Owner William Searle and his family were joined in Hunstanton by well-wishers and holidaymakers for an evening of music and entertainment.

Nelson’s Shantymen performed songs with the sea and some of Searles’ amphibious DUKW vehicles as a backdrop.

The business was started in 1929 by Geoffrey Searle and  son William took over in 1981.

Speaking about the celebrations, Mr Searle said: “What a great night it was. The Shantymen were fantastic and had everybody singing.”

The DUKW vehicles, more commonly known as Ducks, were acquired by Geoffrey Searle in 1946. They have recently been restored by enthusiasts and were also there to mark 75 years since D-Day, having returned from  anniversary ceremonies in France.
