FOOTBALL: A new season has started in earnest for King’s Lynn Town.

Ahead of their debut in National League North, the Linnets have started training sessions three times a week and get the chance to shake the rust out of their system tomorrow when they travel to Stamford for their first pre-season fixture, 3pm, followed by Bury Town on Tuesday, 7.45pm.

Manager Ian Culverhouse is expected to use all of his available squad with Sam Kelly, Nathan Fox and Sonny Carey expected to be in a Linnets shirt for the first time.

Lynn make their competitive bow at The Walks on Tuesday, August 6 against Kettering, three days after the opener at Guiseley, and work continues apace on and off the pitch.

Groundsman Steve Curtis has been busy tending the turf and the installation of the new sprinkler system should be completed this week. Work to comply with ground grading regulations continues with upgrades to the dugouts and press area complete and other projects continuing to take shape.

Gallons of paint have been applied around the ground and in the changing rooms and tunnel area as the club prepares for life on the second rung of the non-League football ladder.
