ATHLETICS: In a busy week of racing for Renegade Runners, Lisa Pyatt travelled to Eye near Peterborough for the second race in the five-race Peterborough 5k series.

She had a much improved race from the first event a fortnight before, finishing nearly 30 seconds faster and three places better on an arguably tougher course, finishing third W40 in a time of 22.13.

At the second of the Thetford Trails Summer 10k three-race series on a warm Thursday evening in the forest, 12-year-old George Munson had a massive improvement from the first race to finish 41st overall and first M10-14 in 49.13.

Leo Munson also showed a time improvement from the first race to finish third W45 in a time of 57.58.

On Friday a few members of the King’s Lynn-based Renegades travelled to North Walsham for a 5k.

Kevin Piggott was first back in 26.16, closely followed by Cheryl Brown, 26.35, Jimmy Hornigold, 28.11 and Lynne Eborall 36.53, with Andy Doyle pacing his daughter Tally to a personal best time of 29.50.

At the Endure 24 event in Leeds, Irena Marcinek covered four five-mile laps in her team of eight, while at the Humpty Dumpty 10k at Freethorpe, a testing hilly course saw Matt Pyatt performed well, missing out on third place overall by seconds to finish fourth, taking the M40 Trophy in 35.22.

Darren Easter was 22nd overall and sixth M45 in 38.59, while Charlie Pyatt improved on his recent 10k races, finishing in 1.21.07 of the 477 finishers.
