King’s Lynn’s Oliver Clarke in US Championship track action.

MOTOR SPORT: Oliver Clarke endured a frustrating second event of the season in the F4 United States Championship at the Pittsburgh International Raceway.

The 16-year-old Velocity Racing Development driver, a pupil at King Edward VII Academy in King’s Lynn, endured a tough qualifying session around the 17-turn, 2.78-mile circuit. 

Setting a best time of 1.43.235, he lined up in 15th place on the grid but scythed his way through to 10th place.

The second race saw him line up 10th on the grid but he finished a lap down on the leaders. The third and final race, a 15-lap sprint from 14th saw him crossing the line 11th.
