A prominent King’s Lynn building is being assessed for “new exciting opportunities”.

The Custom House – home of the town’s Tourist Information Centre – was closed for maintenance work in March.

While work was being carried out at the grade I-listed building in Purfleet Quay, the centre was relocated to Stories of Lynn in the town hall at the Saturday Market Place.

However, West Norfolk Council has said the Custom House was being “assessed for new exciting opportunities”.

A spokesman for the authority said: “It’s been agreed that the Tourist Information Centre will stay in Stories of Lynn until at least the autumn while we evaluate other opportunities for the use of the Custom House.”
