A former garden centre could be home to a new farm shop under plans submitted to West Norfolk Council this week.

Poppyfields Retail Park at Snettisham is seeking change of use planning permission for the shop, plus 10 commercial units, three timber-clad portable display buildings and a new toilet block at the site.

The proposals would see the existing coffee shop and polytunnel retained and a report supporting the application said the project could create two full-time and two part-time jobs.

Additional parking at the garden centre site, in Poppyfields Drive, would see the number of spaces increased from 23 to 56, according to planning documents.

Poppyfields Garden Centre ceased trading last year.

λ A former King’s Lynn bank could become a 24-hour veterinary practice.

The Crimplesham-based Vets One Group is seeking change of use planning permission at the former Natwest bank premises in Hardwick Road.

The new practice would be spread over two floors and include a reception area, dental room, operating theatres, pet accommodation consulting rooms and an isolation unit.

A report supporting the application said All Vets One would continue to operate its existing 24-hour practice, with the new Lynn base acting as a satellite practice, directing more serious cases to Crimplesham.
