The Walks in King’s Lynn resembled a huge bubble bath on Sunday when 1,400 people took part in the Bubble Rush fun run.

The 5k event raised £30,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and saw runners setting off in a sea of bubbles, before being covered in more foam fired from cannons along the route.

Emma Benstead, EACH Norfolk events fundraiser, said: “This was the second staging of the Bubble Rush in King’s Lynn and I’m delighted to say it was even bigger and better than last year’s, with 1,400 people turning out to raise  more than £30,000 and counting. That’s enough to pay for more than five days of care and support across Norfolk.

“The rain waited until we packed away and everyone seemed to have a really fantastic time.

“A big thanks to those who took part, to those who volunteered because we really couldn’t have done without them, to Vancouver Quarter for sponsoring the event and to Bespak, Alive Leisure, Prontaprint and the solicitors Kenneth Bush for their additional support”.

EACH’s next big fundraiser in West Norfolk will be a fire walk on Tuesday, October 1. More details to be announced soon.
