It is a busy month for four West Norfolk Primary schools where staff, parents and pupils are going the extra mile for the Falls Support Appeal.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital launched the appeal in March and, backed by Your Local Paper, it hopes to raise £35,000 for falls prevention and management equipment to help patients of all ages.
The Windmill Federation’s four primary schools have already planned a week of sponsored obstacle courses starting on Monday, June 17.
Now Tilney St Lawrence, West Walton Community, Terrington St John and Walpole Highway Primary Schools are holding a fundraising quiz.
The event is being held at the West Walton school from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, June 21.
Pupils aged four to 11 are invited in two kids’ rounds and it is hoped residents will also take part.
The quiz has been organised by nursery nurse Savannah Farrell and Susie Hall, one of the parents on the West Walton School Association.
Mrs Hall said: “It’s important for everybody to be aware of falls and how to prevent them and also to know that the service and equipment is in place should people need it. Please come and support us as you never know when you may need that support.”
Headteacher Alison Bailey added: “As a federation of four primary schools in West Norfolk, we are more than happy to support the Falls Support Appeal to raise money for such a worthy cause.
“Miss Farrell, a teaching assistant at Tilney St Lawrence Primary School, has organised a number of activities that the children have been involved in to raise money and groups of children have also visited the hospital to deliver handmade Christmas and get well cards to patients.”
Quiz entry costs £5 per team of up to six people. Organisers recommend booking, but some tickets may be available on the door.
To book, call Miss Farrell on 07950 234075 or Mrs Hall on 07787 901553.
