More than 500 students and staff from the College of West Anglia campuses donned their running shoes for charity.

They raised more than £1,500 for Cancer Research UK after taking part in a Race for Life 5K on Wednesday.

The challenge was to run or walk 12 times around the Lynnsport track. Participants shared their reasons for taking part with messages pinned to their running vests.

Event organiser, college sport’s programme manager Scott Leadley, said: “We are delighted with the success of the Race for Life event.

“Both students and staff from across all campuses have come together to participate and help to fight cancer. We hope this is the first of many more to come.”

College principal David Pomfret also took part.

He said: “It was great to bring the college together to support a good cause and fight cancer.”

Donations can still be made via an online fundraising page which can be found at:
