ATHLETICS: In the second Quadkids event of the season at Thetford on Sunday, there were a number of young West Norfolk AC athletes participating.
In the years 4&5 boys category, Charlie Broad was the overall winner, with teammate Kai Peggs finishing fourth.
Broad was first in the 75m (11.6secs) and Vortex howler (37.4m), second in the standing long jump (1.96) and fifth in the 600m (2.05).
Peggs scored consistently with third places in the 600m (2:04) and 75m (12.0), fourth in the standing long jump (1.81) and fifth in the howler (22.9).
In the girls equivalent age category, Danielle Wathan finished 25th overall with her best effort being 1.57 in the standing long jump.
In the Years 6,7 & 8 boys, Charlie Tunmore performed consistently to finish fifth overall with fifth place in the 800m (2.49), sixth in the howler throw (28.9), eighth in the 100m (15.4) and ninth in the long jump (3.55).
Also competing in this age category was Thomas O’Neill. An arm injury stopped him throwing the Vortex, which meant he finished 12th overall.
He ran well in the 800m to finish second with a time of 2.46.
He was also eighth in the 100m (15.4) and 10th in the long jump (3.52).
In the girls category, Jennifer Wood finished 15th overall with her best event being the 800m, which she completed in 3.29.
