Grace Meadows-Flint and Scarlette Burton with their awards.

BATON TWIRLING: Marquettes Baton Twirlers Grace Meadows-Flint and Scarlette Burton proved themselves on the floor of competition at the Bellstars Invitational in Kent.

The Downham Market duo brought home 12 placings between them.

Meadows-Flint picked up awards for first place in the duo category, second fancy strut, third solo and poise & personality, fourth dance twirl and sixth in the two baton.

Burton, meanwhile, finished first in both her duo and dance twirl categories, second solo, third fancy strut and poise & personality and sixth in the two baton.

Club coach Charlotte Cornish said: “The competition was extremely tough with large volumes of athletes competing in each section. We are very pleased with the results and this is extra competition floor time before the National Championships at Easter.”

The Marquettes Baton Twirlers will be showcasing their talents at the Downham Market Festival in the Bank Holiday Monday Carnival.
