FOOTBALL: Extra-time goals from David MacQueen and Sam Lloyd ensured the name of Downham Town will go on the Mid Norfolk Youth League U13 Sub Cup after a thrilling final.

Downham beat Dersingham Rovers 3-1. They dominated much of the match but could not find the target due to some missed opportunities and an outstanding display from man of the match, Dersingham goalkeeper Hayden Neave, ably assisted by his defenders.

The breakthrough came midway through the second half, when MacQueen converted a cross from Harrison Brant.

Dersingham showed great character and equalised to send the match into extra time.

Downham continued to press forward but the Dersingham defence held firm. Finally, with penalty kicks looming, MacQueen latched on to a through ball from Lloyd to slot home and Lloyd made sure of victory just before the final whistle, with a glancing header from Luke Hurcombe’s corner.

λ Archie Frusher’s first-half goal was enough to secure the U13 League Cup for Terrington Tigers against Clenchwarton.
