Kasper Andersen is ready to grab a full season of racing at King’s Lynn with both hands.

Danish star Andersen crashed out of the side last season and failed to regain his place, thanks to the efforts of Simon Lambert.

Now he’s fit and raring to go with the Poultec Stars – and he’s already got two competitive meetings under his belt, ahead of yesterday’s Press and Practice Day at the Adrian Flux Arena.

He rode in a charity meeting at Leicester for the Riders’ Benevolent Fund and then in Sheffield’s Steel City Championship at the weekend.

He said: “I’m feeling pretty good and I can’t wait to get going for Lynn.

“I’m pleased to have got some laps under my belt and I’m sure that will benefit me when the team racing starts for Lynn.

“It was so frustrating for me last season because I was enjoying my time at Lynn and then I got hurt.

“I had a good time there. They are a good club and I’m just really pleased they have given me another chance this season.

“I intend to take that chance with both hands. I want to make up for lost time last season and show the club they were right to bring me back.

“I’ve enjoyed being back racing at Leicester and Sheffield and I can’t wait to get started at Lynn now.”

Andersen is backing the team for success after going agonisingly close last year.

“I was with them for the big meetings at the end of last season, even though I wasn’t riding for them,” he said.

“It was hard to take for the boys, finishing top of the league but then losing to Poole in the final.

“We were the best team throughout the season but not in the Grand Final and it can be cruel sometimes.

“Hopefully we can go one better this year.

“The first target is to get into the top four and see where we progress from there.”
