Marcus Glover, of CGM, with the award and Radio presenter Tina Daheley.

West Norfolk’s CGM Group, a commercial landscaping company based in Downham Market, has scooped a top industry award.

CGM was announced as winner of the Pro Landscaper Apprenticeship Scheme Award at a gala ceremony in London, hosted by BBC Radio 2 news presenter Tina Daheley.

More than 300 people attended the awards for businesses in the UK landscaping sector.

Marcus Glover, head of operations (grounds) at CGM Group, who collected the award, said: “We’re over the moon at winning this award. It’s great recognition for the value CGM Group places on apprentices and how we support them.

“We feel apprenticeships are vital to the success of our recruitment strategy.”

Each year the company offers 15 to 20 apprenticeships in a variety of roles including landscaping, workshop mechanics and office support.

Mr Glover has first-hand knowledge of the apprentice scheme, having completed his apprenticeship at CGM.

“I’ve benefitted from under taking an apprenticeship and would strongly recommend it. It’s a great way to gain skills, training and experience to help progress your career,” he added.
