Police are investigating an attempted daylight robbery at a West Norfolk coastal village in which knife-wielding raiders threatened a couple.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward after the two victims, believed to be in their 70s, were hurt during the attack at their Snettisham home.

Officers were called to a home in Beach Road, just after 12.20pm last Friday.

A  police spokesman said: “Two men had entered a property armed with a knife and demanded money.”

The couple were assaulted and the man suffered a knife injury to his face while a woman was hit to the ground and suffered a minor injury, the spokesman said.

Both victims needed hospital treatment but were later discharged.

The suspects left empty-handed and the spokesman said enquiries were ongoing this week.

Anyone with information is asked to call King’s Lynn CID on 101.
