SAILING: Snettisham Beach Sailing Club is throwing open its doors for its annual open day.
Anyone is welcome to go to the free event, which takes place on Saturday, May 11 and runs from 10am until 4pm as part of the Royal Yachting Association national Push The Boat Out initiative to promote sailing.
There will be free sailing taster sessions on both the sea from 11am and on the club’s lake all day.
Food and drink will be available in the clubhouse with a barbecue taking place.
Club press officer Mark Foley said: “There is no need to book in advance just come along on the day.”
No special clothing is needed for the sailing experience, just footwear you do not mind getting wet, a windproof top, a change of clothes and a towel.
“No experience is necessary and would-be sailors of all ages from eight years upwards are welcome,” said Foley.

“Children must accompanied by an adult but the adult does not have to go sailing.
“Come and chat with our members and find out how you can get into sailing.”
As a special offer for those who want to enjoy more of the sailing experience, any RYA courses booked on the day or club memberships taken out come with a 10 per cent discount.
