FOOTBALL: Match of the day in the UK Van Solutions North West Norfolk League’s divisional cup competitions came with an 11-goal thriller at Ingoldisthorpe Reserves.
The hosts grabbed their first win in Division Two Group A by the odd goal against The Woottons. Phil Bradshaw and Ryan Younge got a pair each for the hosts with Kieran Herbert and Lewis Jeavons securing the balance.
Alfie Brindle and Alex Tweed got a brace each in the reply.
Dersingham Rovers Reserves are top after a 5-0 win against Gayton United A. Joe Collison scored twice with Shaun Gelder, Aaron Pyper and Curtis Sharpe completing the nap-hand.
Reffley maintained their 100 per cent record in Group B with a 3-1 win against FC International, courtesy of a treble from Matt Tite. But Marshland Saints’ winning streak was ended with a 3-3 draw against Watlington SSC, despite goals from Asa Calton, Charlie Dungey and Matt Hampshire.
West Lynn and Clenchwarton got their first point of the season sharing a 3-3 draw. Anthony Melton and Sam Burton traded doubles with Rikky Toll also on target for the hosts and Charlie Dye for Clenchwarton.
In the Division One Cup, Group A leaders Heacham Reserves won 4-0 against Ingoldisthorpe thanks to goals from Aiden Doughty 2, Ruben Dores and Ahmed Rhaouti.
Birchwood stretched their lead in Group B, beating second-placed AFC Walpole 3-1. Adam Williams struck a 35-yard volley for one goal with the others coming from Kane Ashwood and Brad Wilson. Callum Fendley responded.
The coastal village derby ended all square with Snettisham holding Dersingham Rovers to a 3-3 draw.
Snettisham took the lead through Danny Jezeph but Dersingham replied three times through Alex Kittle 2 and Scott English.
Snettisham rolled up their sleeves and the unstoppable Jezeph struck two more.
Despite that hat-trick, Snettisham named goalkeeper Dave Ward as their man of the match, with Ryan Eagle taking the Dersingham honours in a game well controlled by referee Scott Gilham.
There was another goal rush in a game involving The Woottons in Division Three and again it went against the club with the reserves beaten 6-4 at home by Heacham Social Club.
Gary Bowman and Jamie White fired a pair apiece for Heacham with Chris Girdlestone and Kristian Heffer racking up the half-dozen.
The other tie ended level with River Lane Rangers holding Hungate Rovers to a 2-2 draw. Ivan Crisp and William Locks scored for the visitors.
Feltwell United won their Barnes Print Central & South Norfolk League Ambulance Cup derby against Narborough Reserves 2-0. Aaron Keaney and Richard Williams were their scorers.
