GOLF: Paul Rushbrook was welcomed as the 2018 seniors captain at Middleton Hall, delivering a pledge to help children in the county.
And he has done just that, signing of his year with a donation to the Nelson’s Journey charity
He selected Nelson’s Journey, which is a charity based at Little Plumstead with a local office at Tapping House.
It supports children and young people up to their 18th birthday who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life, providing a range of support appropriate for the person concerned.
This may include one-to-one support and opportunities to meet others of a similar age who have also experienced a bereavement.
During the year, senior members of the golf club supported Rushbrook through various events, which culminated in £1,111 being raised.
A presentation cheque was handed over to Dave Cole, a volunteer representing Nelson’s Journey.
