ATHLETICS: The Renegade Runners were busy getting one more race in before the new year with a good turnout at the Marham 10k on New Year’s Eve with several personal best times for the King’s Lynn-based group. 

Darren Easter was fifth overall in a PB of 37.18, closely followed by Paul Keeney, sixth of the 287 finishers in 37.37.

Irena Marcinek was the first Renegade woman to finish, coming 76th in a PB 45.57.

At Ely on the same day Tim Clough ran a PB 42.20 for 98th place of 615 finishers and Liz Sennitt-Clough ran a PB 43.43 to finish as the second W40 runner, 119th overall. 

At Peterborough, Kerrie Page ran a big PB of 57.12, Claire Anderson returned from injury with 1.08.05 and Jennie Shingfield was delighted to finish the year with 1.38.54.

At Wymondham the next day, Matt Pyatt improved on the previous two year’s fourth-place finishes to earn the third step on the podium in 34.15, his best 10k time since July 2017.

His father Charlie finished 648th of 667 runners in 1.19.54.
