ATHLETICS: West Norfolk AC’s endurance runners took on the Hereward Relay, a four-stage, 38.4-mile relay from Peterborough Athletic stadium to Ely Rugby Club, passing over roads, bridleways, fields, bridges and tracks.

Debbie Schwarz got Team Sprint off to a flying start, handing to Neil Watson who clocked 76.1. Tim Coates finished strongly, passing on to Gavin Lane who completed the team time in 5.25.03 for 67th place.

Team Hammer took the inter-club win with Matt Gingell setting the pace on stage one (56.01). Ritchie Walker passed the baton to Ben Collison, who made up more than 25 minutes before handing over to Samantha Stringer. She stormed the last leg to complete the course in 5.19.47 for 59th place out of the 117 teams competing.
