A King’s Lynn businessman has taken part in the machine operator world finals competition.
James Covell, a director of King’s Lynn Construction, travelled to Konz in Germany for the Volvo Operators Club finals.
Participants are judged on how well they handle large machinery around obstacles with speed, precision and technique.
One challenge at last month’s event, saw competitors operate a 30-ton machine while moving a hanging ball through an obstacle course.
Mr Covell said: “I finished in 13th place out of 30 people from around the world, 26,000 people are members at Volvo Operators Club and a large amount of those members tried to get to the finals in Germany.
“I was placed first for team Great Britain getting a quicker overall time than another contender from the UK. It was a very challenging competition with some first class operators from around the world.”
