Youngsters in Downham Market had fun getting up close and personal with an array of animals when ZooLab paid a visit.

Pupils at Nelson Academy got to hold all kinds of creatures  under the supervision of experts from the company, which provides opportunities for people to safely handle exotic animals.

Kathryn Hare, who teaches year one pupils in Leeds class, said: “It was a fantastic day when ZooLab came to visit and all the children in Leeds and Cambridge classes in year one had lots of fun.

“We held snakes, snails, lizards and frogs and everyone was so brave and patient with the animals.

“It really was a lovely morning learning all about the wonders of the animal kingdom.

“ZooLab were fantastic and very professional in the way they looked after the animals and interacted with the children.

“Having such a close-up experience and being able to touch the animals makes a huge difference to the children’s learning.”

ZooLab work with schools, care homes, companies and organisations across the UK.
