The 4th King’s Lynn All Saints Brownie Unit is celebrating a special birthday.

The group, which has been meeting most Monday nights since 1968, is 50 years old.

The youngsters had great fun  this week taking part in craft activities.

They made golden woggles out of plaited leather and received copies of their new badge book. They also found out about the new programme being introduced throughout the UK.

Vicki Fletcher, unit leader, said: “There were book marks for each Brownie to clip into their new books. It was quite a night.

“We had commissioned a badge to celebrate our birthday and everyone involved in our celebrations will receive a badge.”

The celebrations at North Wootton Scout and Guide Headquarters also included a cake, complete with tents and campfire.

A special part of the  event was to welcome three new members who made their promise and received a Brownie promise badge to wear.

The youngsters hope to be in church on Sunday when their new flag  will be paraded for the first time and dedicated during the annual Harvest Festival service at All Saints Church.
