A King’s Lynn man has appeared in court charged with murder and possession of a weapon.
Gediminas Jasinskas, 29, of Tennyson Avenue, appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with the murder of 26-year-old Cristina Magda-Calancea.
No pleas were entered. Jasinskas was remanded in custody to appear at Norwich Crown Court on Monday, October 22.
Last Friday, officers were called to the town’s Fenland Road at 10.51pm following reports a woman had been stabbed.
Ms Magda-Calancea, of Tennyson Avenue, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn but later died.
A Home Office post mortem examination revealed she died as a result of multiple stab wounds.
Detective inspector Lewis Craske of the Major Investigation Team said: “We believe this to be an isolated incident; however we are still keen to speak to anyone with information regarding it to further assist our investigation.”
