An evening with former professional boxer Frank Bruno is being held in aid of a new community centre.
The charity evening will include a three-course meal and a question and answer session with the championship boxer.
An auction and raffle will also be held at the event which is raising funds for a community centre for St Faith’s Church in Gaywood.
The charity evening will take place on Saturday, October 27 at 7pm at The Hudson Centre in Wisbech.
Organiser Mel Payne said: “We are very excited to organise what we hope will be a fantastic evening which not only raises funds for a great new project but also will raise awareness of mental health to a potentially male dominated audience, which is so important.”
Reverend Julie Boyd of the church has recently kick started fundraising with a motorcycle journey from the church to Scotland last month.
She said: “We have just returned from Inverness having successfully completed our first massive fundraising challenge.
“We feel that there is a need for a meeting place, for action groups and support networks as well as for church groups.
“This new centre will host the new church office, a drop-in-centre and café with a friendly welcome, private consultation rooms and a tranquil garden – a place that serves you.”
West Norfolk Mind will be given free use of space at the centre for weekly meetings for the first three years after the centre opens to help further develop its mental health support services.
Sponsorship packages for the centre are also available.
Tickets for the charity event are £60 per person available from Heros Fitness in Lynn or call 07955 884084 or 07445 444111.
