A special online portal has been created by HemingwayDesign to gather views about ways to regenerate Hunstanton’s southern seafront.

International designer Wayne Hemingway, who is leading the redesign project, said: “Hunstanton is a unique place with a distinctive character and rich Victorian heritage. The aim of the redevelopment is to enhance the seaside resort by re-enlivening its leisure and tourist attractions and to restore its once strong personality. This could be a driver of really positive change for the town, its economy, culture and profile.

“To really get to the heart of what Hunstanton’s southern seafront could become, we need the help of as many people as possible – from residents and visitors, to businesses and schools.

“We need to reach out to the wider community to get the views of young and old and to reflect what people want from a seaside resort. The more people we can encourage to ‘Come design with us’, the more interesting and relevant the result will be.”

Peter Hodson, West Norfolk Council cabinet member for regeneration, said: “We have already held an initial visioning event where many local stakeholders came to provide ideas about how they saw Hunstanton developing.

“This information has been used as the basis for the portal questions. We now want as many people as possible to participate, so please do encourage your friends, family, work colleagues and acquaintances to go online and complete our survey.”

“The survey will only be live for the next few weeks, so please do take part as soon as possible.”

HemingwayDesign, specialists in coastal renewal, has been commissioned by the borough council to develop a vision for the town’s southern seafront.
