With the Premiership finishing line in sight, King’s Lynn are in pole position after a fine pair of wins this week, writes Chris Milsom.

In front of the BT Sport cameras at Leicester on Monday, the TruPlant Stars had to come from behind to pick up all four points with a 50-40 victory and on Wednesday, co-leaders Somerset Rebels were soundly thrashed 58-32 at the Adrian Flux Arena to open a two-point lead at the top.

Recent signing Erik Riss had his best meeting since joining the club, picking up 10+2 on Monday. He was backed by Robert Lambert
(11 points) and Thomas Jorgensen (10+1).

It was first against second 48 hours later and it was the Stars who stole the show.

It was all one-way traffic as the hosts dominated the meeting, rattling off six 5-1s, including three in the first three races.

Captain Robert Lambert scored 14 points with only Brady Kurtz lowering his colours.

Lambert was supported by the engine room of the team; Ty Proctor helped himself to 10+1 and Jorgensen scored 8+1.

Simon Lambert had a great meeting, picking up 7+2 from his four rides at reserve.

The result sent the Stars to the top of the table after a scintillating run of 10 wins in their last 11 outings.

They have four league fixtures remaining of the scheduled league campaign – all taking place next week to decide the play-off places and choice of opponents.
