A Wimbotsham man got a special East End send-off with an Only Fools and Horses-themed funeral.

Lifelong fan Colin Stammers, who died at the age of 84, was taken on his final journey in a special hearse pulled by a Del Boy-style Reliant Regal three-wheeler.

The unique procession left the home he shared with wife Eva, 78, and travelled to Mintlyn Crematorium in King’s Lynn for the funeral service last Thursday.

Mrs Stammers, who was married to Colin for 48 years, said he would have loved how his funeral had been arranged.

“Colin had a wonderful sense of humour. He would say it was a great idea,” she said.

Mr Stammers, originally of Chingford, North East London, was a father-of-two and a grandfather-of-four.

The retired carpenter developed dementia some years ago and died at Oak Manor nursing home in Dereham on July 28.

The King’s Lynn branch of AJ Coggles funeral directors arranged the funeral service.

John Coggles, of the family firm, said: “We do offer alternative arrangements and bespoke funeral services.

“We also have produced Only Fools and Horses service sheets to reflect on the theme.”
