A planning application has been submitted to West Norfolk Council for 40 new homes on the former Fosters Sports Ground site in Clenchwarton.
Applicant Elm Park Holdings Limited wants to create a development of 28 private homes, eight affordable houses and four fully-serviced plots of three or four-bedroomed detached self-build units on North Field, Ferry Road.
The site has been the subject of a number of planning applications in recent years which have never come to fruition.
In 2015, the council took legal action to challenge a planning inspector’s decision to reverse its refusal of planning consent for 40 homes on the site.
However, the council lost its challenge and a High Court judge backed an assessment at the time that the council did not have a five-year land supply.
The current application is a resubmission after the original application was withdrawn from the appeal process last year.
Residents have expressed concerns about increased traffic, risk of flooding and poor infrastructure.
