Runners added a dash of colour at Hunstanton last Sunday. Pictures on pages 9, 10 and 54 by Matthew Usher

Splashes of colour doused runners at Hunstanton for a first charity Colour Dash.

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) brought its popular two-mile fundraising event to the town last Sunday.

Runners and walkers donned EACH T-shirts and raised money to help children with life-limiting illnesses.

Emma Benstead, EACH Norfolk events fundraiser, said: “This was the first time for our Colour Dash series in Hunstanton and it was fantastic to see the smiles on some 199 rainbow-coloured faces.

“We haven’t counted up yet, but think the event has probably raised around £4,000. All the money will go towards the vital care and support EACH provides for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and their families.

“Our thanks to Listers King’s Lynn (Mini) and West Norfolk Council for their support, as well as everyone who volunteered.

“Our attentions now turn to an abseil and an open air cinema in Norwich on September 14 and 22 respectively. We’ll be back in West Norfolk on December  6 for an evening of carols at King’s Lynn Minster.
