A King’s Lynn hairdressers is celebrating after being named Norfolk’s Best Salon.

Online blog Muddy Stilettos crowned Eden Hair Design, in Tower Street, winner after it received the most votes for its category in an online poll.

Salon owner Tara Inns, 47, said: “We’re really chuffed to win. We found out on the day of the royal wedding in May. We  celebrated last week by having a meal out.”

Ms Inns, who lives in Lynn, began her apprenticeship at Images in the town before opening her own salon in South Clough Lane 13 years ago which employed four stylists.

Her business continued to expand and five years ago the salon moved to its current location in Tower Street, where Ms Inns employs 12 stylists and three trainees.

She said: “I think the team working here is great and I don’t think we are too big for our boots.”

Other West Norfolk winners for this year’s Muddy Stilettos Awards were: Best Bar, Nip and Growler in Lynn; Best Beauty Salon, The Little Retreat in Downham Market; Best Café, The Old Boat House in Old Hunstanton and Best Restaurant,  Shucks at the Yurt in Thornham.
