Some of the competitors at King’s Lynn Golf Club’s annual mixed open tournament.

GOLF: King’s Lynn Golf Club’s annual mixed open attracted 76 players representing 16 clubs. 

The better ball stableford competition was won by a first-time entrant with Carol Jones and Jeremy White, from Saffron Walden, taking first place with 42 points. 

Second place went to Tina and Stephen Hurst, from Gog Magog, on countback from Bourne’s Zhanna Tarasko and William Selfe who scored 40 points, a total shared by fourth placed Nene Park pair Vanessa and Bob Morris.

The best front nine went to Clair and Mark Howell, with 23 points, and Ray Stonnell and Corrine Everett took the best back nine prize with 24 points. 

Nearest the pin on the fifth was Ken Squires, from Spalding, and nearest the pin on the 16th was Marie Smith, from John O’Gaunt.
