King’s Lynn’s newest store was officially opened on Bank Holiday Monday.
Poundstretcher, in the High Street, was unveiled by West Norfolk Mayor Nick Daubney.
The first shoppers enjoyed a number of prize giveaways and activities to celebrate the opening of Poundstretcher, which was in the town’s Norfolk Street more than a decade ago.
The £500,000 store, located in the premises which previously housed Sports Direct, has created 25 jobs, a mix of full-time and part-time.
Ahead of the opening Michael Baldwin, president of Norfolk Chamber of Commerce West, said the return of Poundstretcher to the town was a good sign.
“It’s sad to see shops go, but it is exciting to see what’s coming behind them.
“I think the High Street is evolving and changing across the country, it’s exciting.”
